One of the top bug bears of small business owners is the need to keep proper accounting records. However we all know that without good records not only will you not meet your statutory obligations but also you lose probably the most important management tool a business owner can have. Being able to monitor the financial position of your business is so important. Good accounts provide you with the information necessary to:
- Monitor progress
- Identify strengths and weaknesses.
- Plan for the future
We begin by discussing your specific requirements with you and then we set up appropriate accounting procedures and controls and ensure your accounts are kept fully up-to-date and in compliance with statutory regulations. But we don't stop there. We can also provide you with regular management accounts to keep you informed on essential areas such as:
- Performance ratios
- Customer activity
- Credit control
- Budget comparisons
In addition we can also relieve your staff of the burden of preparing:
- Payroll administration
- VAT returns
- Bank reconciliations
- Annual accounts
As a general rule we look to our clients to prepare their own books and records by:
- Establishing good accounting systems in their business. We are a registered Sage Business Partner and have experience of using accounting products such as MYOB, Quick Books, TAS Books etc.... We also have extensive knowledge in using cloud based accounting packages, Kashflow and Xero.
- Providing training to their book-keeping team.
Often all that is required is support. We can assist your book-keeping team through regular visits to carry out specific accounting functions (e.g. bank reconciliations) and management accounts preparation.
In exceptional circumstances we can take over your book-keeping function completely and carry this out from our offices in Strood or at your own premises. This level of service is usually geared up to the very small business with turnovers of up to £500,000 who usually are owner managed by one person.
Whatever your requirements we know we can help you. Please call 01634 731390 or contact Andrew Grant today to discuss how we can help you keep your books in good order.
