We are pleased to announce that Andrew Grant and Jan Friend have successfully passed an assessment in Probate and Estate Administration. That means that our firm will shortly be authorised to provide probate services on behalf of executors and personal representatives.
Since 2014 it has been open to accountants to offer this service, but only once they are examined to prove they are suitably knowledgeable. Previously probate was a reserved service that only solicitors could offer. We have been considering doing this for a while but having watched on as a couple of clients received a cold and mediocre service from a solicitor we realised the time was right to act.
We are extremely happy that we will be adding this service to our existing ones. We recognise that it aligns well with certain services we already provide, such as estate planning and inheritance tax compliance, but extends what we can do to assist our clients through a difficult period.
As well as offering the service to our existing clients and their immediate family we intend to open the service up to the wider community. We look forward to providing the guidance and assistance with the same ethos of attentive service we already provide to our accountancy clients.
Watch this space – we’ll soon be authorised and will give more details of this new service then. In the meantime if you’d like more information about our probate services please contact Andrew or Jan.
