WE HAVE SET UP A NEW BUSINESS SUPPORT DEPARTMENT

In recent years we have seen a plethora of new cloud based accounting software coming on to the market such as Kashflow, Xero, Quickbooks, Sage One plus much much more. Keeping up to date has proved a logistical nightmare as often we find ourselves with a new software package and only one client using it!!!  We also recognise that the future will be cloud based software particularly as HMRC are looking to introduce real-time information through digital accounts for  the self employed and landlords.

As a firm we pride ourselves on keeping  ahead of the game so we have taken the decision to build a specialist department to support our cloud based clients who use Xero, Quickbooks, Sage One and Kashflow and those clients who outsource their book-keeping  and payroll services  to us. Our business support team is headed by Gavin Hooker, a Chartered Certified Accountant, who has a wealth of experience having previously worked for a local top twenty local accountancy practice.

Gavin will be ably supported by our payroll manager, Zoe Tapson, and the team of Melissa, Dan and Bradley.

We are silver members for both Xero Sage One and gold members for Quickbooks (aiming now for gold and platinum!) and all the Business Support team are Xero, Quickbooks and Sage One Accredited along with members of our Accounts and Tax teams.

The purpose of the new Business Support Department will be :

  1. To provide expert technical support for all the main accountancy packages (Xero, Quickbooks, Sage and Kashflow).
  2. To aid clients in systems implementation and training.
  3. To provide a high quality book-keeping and payroll service.
  4. To assist clients with the preparation of management accounts.
  5. To encourage the implementation of more cloud based software  for clients in preparation  for the introduction  of digital accounting.

We will also be reviewing add-ons for all the main software packages and advising clients accordingly as well as looking to introduce a number of new business support based services.

We will be writing to all clients whose affairs will be taken over either solely or in part by Gavin’s team and for those clients unaffected we will make further announcements of additional services which may be of interest.

These are exciting times with technology moving at a rapid speed with the development of cloud based accountancy software, add-ons and HMRC’s move towards digital accounts. We are determined to be Medway's leading firm in this area.
